I think it’s fair to say most of us hate change, especially if it means giving up something we’ve grown accustomed to.
But, at the ground level of following Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord is a desire for him to change us, to transform us. That’s what he’s promised to do!
When Paul wrote to the Roman Christ-followers he first reminded them that the Gospel story was the “power of God”, activated in them though faith in Jesus Christ.
And you know what that power does? It changes us! It grows us in likeness to Jesus himself, as we say “no” to the ways our culture wants us to think and act, and, instead, say “yes” to filling our hearts and minds with the truth of God’s Word. And as the Word lives in our lives, our lives are transformed … they’re changed … and always for the better, by God’s grace, and for God’s glory.
