When Jesus came bringing the Kingdom of God to earth, he entered a world filled with superstition, false religions, and deep despair. It was a dark, dark world indeed.
Into that world John tells us he “brought the light of life.” He brought the truth of God, and he taught it everywhere he went.
But Jesus wasn’t only about correcting people’s beliefs. Not then, and not now.
Following Christ means much more than believing the truth about him. As James writes, even the demons believe, and at least it causes them to shudder!
What our Lord and Savior calls us to is behavior shaped and driven by our beliefs. We’re here to reflect the light of life he has brought into our lives so that others will see it, and come to love him too.
